UbiAct - Entwicklung einer Fingerrng-bassierten Interaktion für AR-Brillen

An intelligent finger ring that enables interaction with the augmented reality environment.

The growing number of connected devices leads to an increased complexity of interaction in smart spaces. This creates barriers to interaction and can cause the user to feel a loss of control. In the UbiAct project, an ubiquitous and multimodal interaction system for smart spaces is being implemented and evaluated, which is intended to reduce the complexity of interaction and make contextual connections comprehensible. It contains an intelligent ring, gathering user’s gestures and contextual information, and an AR environment, visualizing context information directly in the space. Existing interaction possibilities, such as smartphone apps or physical switches, will not be replaced, but complemented.
