EV Grid Berlin

Measures for EV NS-Netz

This project aims at modeling the electric vehicles concurrency charging on the basis of specific usage categories. This includes suburban and urban office spaces, suburban and urban residential complexes, as well as a concept for fast charging stations, which can be located e.g. at gas stations or shopping malls. The developed tool in the project can not only show the impact of the usage patterns at the respective network connection point, but also the impact of many scenarios within a specific network part. Accordingly, load ranges or concurrency factors at the level of the grid connection, the LV transformer and the MV transformer of a modeled grid can be identified.

Concurrent charging of electric vehcile

Concurrent charging due to the spread of electromobility, especially in urban-suburban networks, represents a concrete challenge for grid operators. The level and timing of possible overloads depend on a large number of influencing factors. Among other influencing factors, mobility behavior, infrastructure performance and the behavior of other network components can be very different in each individual network section or at individual network nodes. Mutual interactions can also exist so that an exact representation of future expected concurrency factors and network loads is only possible with the help of a powerful software tool.
