“Berlin Agency for Electromobility eMO” – overview

The DAI-Labor is working on six projects in the research program “Berlin Agency for Electromobility eMO”. The goal of the research program is to develop Berlin-Brandenburg to an international model of electromobility. Therefor more than 100 project partners from politic, economy and science, including numerous automobile manufacturers work together in 30 key projects and as many as this associated projects for three years. “Drive, charge, save and connect” is the motto.

Projects of the research program “Berlin Agency for Electromobility eMO” at the DAI-Laboratory:

  • Micro Smart Grid EUREF
The goal is to use more renewable energy resource for e-cars with a charge management and to reduce the use of public electricity. A Smart Grid is an electricity grid, which is combines several different energy sources, consumers and storages. It´s called “Micro” Smart Grid, because it´s happening in the spatially delimited EUREF-Campus.

  • Extendable and adaptive E-Mobility Services (EMD)
IT-Services, processes and tolls getting developed to network applications and data. Several transport modes, like car-sharing and public transports can be combined with innovative electromobility services. The new created generation of electromobility services, should be characterized by domain-spanning (energy, electromobility, traffic) semantics, context-adaptivity, personalisation and real-time capabilities.

  • Multi-shift operations and night-time delivery with electric commercial vehicles (NaNu)
In particular the commercial transport is focused on this project. With exchangeable batteries the trucks are able to drive through the night, they are able to drive in a three shift system.  The DAI-Labor is working on the charging infrastructure and developing a software solution to use the batteries more efficient.

  • Smart e-User
In this project they develop a user neutral IT-based solution (dynamic disposition) for electro vehicles, which is able to connect systematically the aspects vehicle, energy, traffic and logistic.  The commercial use is the main interest. They research and develop to optimize the charge, but without the use of exchangeable batteries.

  • Integration Platform Intelligent Networks (IPIN)
In this project, we analyze the usage and consumption of renewable energy in the region Berlin-Brandenburg.

  • Electrical fleets for Berlin-Brandenburg (eFlotten BB)
In this project the user interfaces between electro cars, public transports and shuttle services are getting analyzed. The goal is to connect those components with each other.
