Smart Spaces, so-called “intelligent spaces” or digital and networked environments that support people in their everyday lives, this is a concept the DAI-Labor has been working on for years. Environments equipped with novel technologies should adapt and interact with people’s needs. There are no limits to the networked world, so physical and digital worlds are to be brought together with the help of technological and intelligent systems.

The goal is to create Smart Spaces that are intelligent, networked, digitized, coordinated, open and secure. The resulting ecosystem should be based on the needs of the people and define different application scenarios and target groups. In recent years there have been numerous examples of applications, be it in the smart home, in hospitals, at the workplace, networked factories or in smart city concepts and digital infrastructures, on which the DAI-Labor is also working.
