The success of the energy revolution depends largely on the successful interaction of a large number of renewable and distributed energy sources, as well as intelligently controlled consumers. This successful interaction requires a reliable and innovative communication infrastructure that enables the flexible collection, processing and exploitation of measurement data from multiple producer and consumer locations. For the realization of intelligent power grids, we at the DAI Labs are therefore researching innovative measuring systems and the associated network concepts using new communication technologies, such as, for example, 5G mobile and software-defined networks.
