Engineering IoT Applications by Means of Software Technology and Computer-Aided Simulation (WIP)
Abstract
There are few paradigms that gained more publicity over the last year than the Internet of Things, or the IoT. Despite its popularity, there are currently no approaches that directly address the simulation of IoT environments or the simulation-based engineering of those. Based on our experiences, we argue that agent-frameworks are a potential solution for both. In this paper we substantiate this statement by means of an example and point out future work, which is required in order to make agent-frameworks an even better-fitting approach for the engineering of IoT solutions - and to make the IoT a great success.
