Towards Model-based Runtime Evaluation and Adaptation of User Interfaces
Abstract
The development of adaptive applications addresses the need to build computer systems that are ubiquitously available and support the user in various situations. However, as adaptations are performed at runtime and can sometimes hardly been predicted at design time, dynamic evaluation and measurement methods for usability and accessibility are required. In our work we utilize user interface models at runtime to make design information accessible for adaptation processes. In this paper we present an approach to run a user model against a system model at runtime to dynamically simulate and evaluate adaptation quality for users with specific needs.
